Indeed, the flood of algorithmically curated information, fed to our phones every minute of every day, is unique in human history. I suppose my question is…what is the solution? If there is one? Do we regulate the algos?
The behaviors of the wealthy speaks for itself – they are cutting internet usage, in particular for their kids, although they too struggle with this new-age addiction.
Ordinary regulation is too slow to keep up with technology. My guess is that the only way to fight algos that try to influence our thinking is via better algos that protect us.
